Discover the hidden gems of the Kurdistan Region in Iraq as you journey through the enchanting cities of Erbil, where ancient history meets modern vitality, and Duhok, a gateway to stunning mountain landscapes. Explore the charming town of Amadiya, perched atop a picturesque plateau, and venture to the serene village of Rawandas, nestled amid rolling hills. Continue your adventure to the tranquil shores of Lake Dokan, and conclude your trip in Sulaymaniyah, a city known for its vibrant arts scene and rich cultural heritage. With each stop, you'll uncover a tapestry of landscapes and experiences, revealing the lesser-known treasures of this remarkable region.
Day 1: Erbil

After breackfast . The tour will begin with a visit to the Civilization Museum which is located within the Citadel of Erbil. This citadel is a UNESCO site and is a must-visit destination. After the museum, you will visit the Textile Museum, Kurdish antique shop, Qaysai Bazaar, and the Minaret of Choli (also known as the Mudhafaria Minaret).

Day 2: Erbil – Duhok

After having breakfast and checking out from the hotel, we will proceed for a tour. Our first stop will be the Dayro d-Mor Monastery, where we will enjoy a guided tour by a monk. Next, we will visit Jirwana, which is one of the oldest aqueducts in the world. After that, we will drive to Lalesh.
In Lalesh, we will visit the village of Al Qush, which is home to the tomb of the prophet Nahum. We will also visit the Mar Gorgis Monastery, which houses the Mar Mekha Churches and is still very active. Finally, we will check out the Rabban Hormizd Monastery, which is over a thousand years old and carved into the rocks.
We will then check-in and spend the night at Dohuk.

Day 3 : Duhok – Amadiya – Rawandas

After having breakfast and checking out from the hotel, we will be heading to Amadiya. One of the most famous attractions of the city is the Bab Zebar Gate. Another must-see place is the Minaret of Amadiya, which stands 30m high and has been there since the 15th century. We will also visit the former palace of Sadam Hussein, which has only a few walls remaining today. Next, we will drive to Rawandas and make a stop along the way to take some pictures. We will visit the Mullah Mustapha Memorial, which is a very important place for the Kurds as it is the site of the memorial of the Father of present-day Kurdistan. We will also visit the Shanidar Cave, where the remains of some Neanderthals were discovered. On the way, we will walk along the famous Hamilton Road and park in Rawandas. Finally, we will check in and spend the night in Rawandas.

Day 4: Rawandas – Dokan – Sulaymaniyah

After having breakfast and checking out from the hotel, we will drive to Sulaymaniyah via Dokan. During our journey, we will make a stop at the Red Prison, which was a place where Kurds were imprisoned and tortured during the time of Saddam Hussein. Afterward, we will walk through the bustling bazaar of Sulaymaniyah and visit the famous Sha’ab Teahouse, which is an icon of the city. Later, we will enjoy a beautiful view of the city from the Goizha mountain. We will spend the night in Sulaymaniyah.

Day 5: Sulaymaniyah – Halabja – Tawela

Spend the first day visiting the Sulaymaniyah Museum. On the second day, visit the Genocide Museum and Cemetery in Halabja and see the beautiful Tawela waterfall on the border with Iran. Stay overnight in Sulaymaniyah.

Day 6: Sulaymaniyah – Erbil

Drive to Erbil via Koisinjak. Stop at an old caravanserai to feel like you’re traveling back in time. Visit Zarvi Cave and Dokan Lake for relaxation and a chance to stretch your legs before dropping off at the airport.
