Upon arrival at Baghdad International Airport, you will be greeted by your local guide who will transfer you to the hotel. If time allows, you can explore Baghdad before settling in for an overnight stay.
During your visit to Baghdad, there are a few noteworthy sites that you shouldn’t miss. The National Museum, Al-Mustansariya School, which was once the most significant university in the Islamic world, and Almutanabi Street, also known as Book Street, are some of the must-see attractions. You should also check out the Copper market.
The Al Shaheed Monument is a prominent structure that commemorates the first Gulf War and is worth highlighting. Additionally, the Liberation Square, which is the central square of the city, and the Save the Iraqi Culture Monument are other significant landmarks to explore.
Finally, you can spend the night in Baghdad and continue with the journey the next day.
Drive to Babylon and enjoy a tour of its ancient ruins, including the Hanging Gardens and the Tower of Babel. Also, visit the Palace of Saddam Hussein, situated on a hill overlooking Babylon. Next, head to Karbala and visit the Imam Hussein Shrine, the burial place of Imam Hussein, and the Al-Abbas Mosque, where Abbas ibn Ali is buried. Then, proceed to Baghdad and spend the night there.
We will be driving to Samarra, passing through villages that have been devastated during the fight against IS. Once we reach Samarra, we will visit the famous Samarra Minaret, also known as the Great Mosque of Samarra. You can even climb to the top if you like. We will also see the renowned Birka Palace before returning to Baghdad. We will spend the night in Baghdad.
